What Week is It anyway

Well I have been slacking . . . not in my training, but in my blogging . . . guess I am better at training then writing . . . probably a good thing considering what I am trying to accomplish;)

This last week was a good one on paper but toward the end of the week I was feeling a bit fatigued, may be pushing a little to hard (big surprise there).

Monday - 5 mile recovery and strength circuit
Tuesday - spin and run @ the Basement
Wednesday - Track workout with the TEAM - Hard but totally fun workout - thanks Was!!
Thursday - Spin at Rob's - Just didn't feel into it, I think my legs were still tired from track
Friday - Well . . . so I decided to play a little pick up soccer and it is totally true what they say about specificity of training . . . I am not in soccer shape . . . not only did I blister my feet, but I strained muscles I didn't even know I had . . . needless to say I decided to skip my planned tempo run.
Saturday - So I woke up in worse condition then I went to sleep in . . . felt a cold coming on (I have a few friends and a few to many workouts to blame for that) . . . soccer was still kicking my butt . . . and I had made plans to do a 15 miler with Brenna . . . so I did what any good (meaning crazy) ironteamer would do . . . I showed up on time for our run . . . and glad I did. Perfect running weather and good company made the 15 miles fly by. Next stop our Iron University Strength training seminar.
Sunday - they say that the second day is the worst, "they" are totally right. Soccer is not for the weak. Anyway, off to Mountain View High for a swim and bike brick . . . let the good times roll. Workout was great, I felt much better in terms of my cold and my muscles after getting going. Absolutely beautiful morning, we couldn't have asked for a better day.

The aftermath. Hurting, tired and this cold is kicking my butt. I got some foam roller and streching to do before bed.

Write you next week (hopefully), same time same Iron channel.

Week 2

Well my body is posting mixed reviews on my second full week of "iron training", truthfully I don't think I let my self have an off season and my training hasn't changed that much from last season . . . other then I have a lot more cool folks to workout with. I really like having the Team, it is very motivating.

Long run Saturday morning (10.5m + 3.5m), tweaked my knee a little bit. I am making myself stay off it until at least Wednesday (by off it I don't mean I am not working out or moving around - if you know me this is pretty much an impossibility - just no running).

Writing a blog is kinda weird (I have never done this before), I wonder if anyone actually reads these things, is it just a bit of narcissism? Oh well, I said I was going to post a training blog for any of my sponsors that might be interested and it is an interesting exercise.

Can't, Hardly, Wait!!!!

Can't wait to kick this season off and meet the lot of you. Can hardly wait to start getting into the training. I have been told I will have to wait to really get going (a couple of weeks). Anyway, had a great tri season (thanks in part to the cool tri-geeks I get to work with) and am hoping to get back into a training regime before my over active appetite and propensity to sleep in catches up with my inner couch potato;)
